As founder and president of the New Approach School for Jewelers in Virginia Beach, Virginia, his career began fourteen years ago, studying under a master stonesetter in Cincinnati, Ohio. A career which has included over 1500 students and guest lecturing with live demonstrations for the Society of North American Goldsmiths and other professional jewelry shows. Blaine has innovated and redesigned bezel setting techniques for fragile colored stones like tanzanite's, emeralds, opals, and other soft gemstones.
