Wax is an amazing material! In this hands-on workshop, the students explore innovative approaches to wax carving with an emphasis on encouraging confidence and creativity. Working primarily with File-A-Wax, there are live, highly magnified demos of many wax techniques. The instructor welcomes personal projects or projects are supplied. Students also learn affordable lathe and milling techniques that save time and improve accuracy. Students must have basic bench jeweler skills for this program.

Kate Wolf has been carving wax and making jewelry for twenty-nine years. In addition to designing and manufacturing her own line of gold and silver jewelry, Kate makes master molds for many manufacturers in the industry, including L.L. Bean, Lenox Collections, QVC, and Disney. Kate has a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from Tyler School of Art. Previously, Kate was a Master Modelmaker and Director of Production for the Jewelry Division of The Franklin Mint..
